ABOUT THE EVENT /
On March 23, 2024, join our 7th Annual Seize the Moment 5K/10K in Sacramento. This combined 10K, 5K and fun run is designed to generate interest, awareness and promote education about epilepsy, seizures and SUDEP. To be held on Purple Day® weekend, this run is open to all participants of all ages. We welcome sponsors, business partners, community activists, and entertainers to join us in creating a signature event for the Epilepsy Foundation of Northern California in the Sacramento Region.
Our goal is to make a difference and pay it forward and for every child living with epilepsy to be able to go to Camp Coelho or participate in any of our programs regardless of cost or need.
Seize the Moment Run is dedicated to those who face the daily challenges of living with epilepsy, this family-oriented Run/Walk will present information about the challenges faced by people living with epilepsy through multiple informational booths. Participants will have the opportunity to ask questions and gather informational publications at the event.

PARKING
Parking is conveniently located at City Lot X at 2nd & N St for $5. Participants can access the parking lot via 3rd St, turning right onto N St (follow parking signs). Additionally, 2 and 3 hour metered street parking surrounding Crocker Park is also available. The quickest way to pay for parking is through the ParkMobile app.
REFUNDS
Unfortunately, there are no refunds for all race entries. Due to the expenses (permits, insurance, shirts, bibs, etc.) incurred in advance of the race, we are unable to offer refunds. Please know that any proceeds from the event will provide critical support and programs for the Northern California epilepsy community.

STROLLERS & DOGS
Strollers are permitted in the race. We just ask that you and your bundle of joy start the race in the back of the pack. No scooters, bikes, skates, skateboards on the course.
Only service dogs are allowed to participate in our event. Unfortunately, all other dogs are not allowed to participate in the run. Sorry to all of our four legged friends.

Lost and found items will be collected at the Volunteer Tent.

AWARDS
There will be categorized awards for 5K and 10K races: Overall and Ages Under 13 (ages 12 and younger), Under 35 (ages 34 and younger), 35-49, 50-64, and 65+ (ages 65 and older).

There are many ways to participate as a volunteer for Seize the Moment Run before and during the event! As a 501(c)(3), we are able to provide volunteering credits for students as well.
